Skiing in Sälen

This weekend we visited Sälen to do some skiing. We went there together with Krehla's. We had two days of nice skiing in Lindvallen, Högfjället, and Tandodalen. There is plenty of snow there now, and the skiing conditions are very good. However, we were not extremely impressed the skiing in Sälen in general.

Our rating (of the skiing): 3 out of 5.

Chuck Berry concert in Paris

Tonight we saw Chuck Berry's concert at the Olympia hall in Paris. It sure was great to see him in action. He is 80 years old now but still very vital and at some moments he was brilliant. He performed all his famous songs, including as Roll over Beethoven, My Ding-a-ling, Nadine, Jonny B Goode, Memphis Tennessee, Rock and Roll Music, Sweet Little Sixteen, No Particular Place to Go, You Never can Tell, etc.

We also found the warm up band Thomas Kiefer very good. He was alone on the scene with a guitar and a sequencer. Still he managed to create an illusion of a whole rock band with a massive sound.

Russian Ballet in Linköping

Tonight, we saw Russian ballet in Linköping. It was performed by a ballet troup from St Petersburg. The director Pavel and vice director Dima are friends of ours. It was a show in two acts. The first act consisted of shorter pieces, whereas the second act was a part of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker. At the end of the show, when Pavel was talking to the audience, Elena was on the stage to translate from Russian to Swedish. A very memorable evening indeed. We liked the show very much!

St Petersburg

We visited St Petersburg over the weekend. It is always nice to go there (as can be seen on the pictures - the link is in the title of this post).
