Midsummer

We spent the Midsummer weekend in Old Uppsala, Vattholma, and Stockholm archipelago :-). On the Midsummer's eve we first had a quick stop at Ulva Kvarn, then went on to extremely crowded Old Uppsala, to celebrate Midsummer in the very traditional Swedish way. That is, with ring dances to live music, raw herring, etc. The weather was very nice.

In the evening we had BBQ with family Lund and friends in Vattholma (a place 30 km north of Uppsala). In the Vattholma area Trekanten some claim to have the oldest Midsummer celebrations that exists. After nice BBQ we went to Trekanten around midnight to dance to the music of a live cover band on stage.

On Midsummer Day we went with M/S Birger Jarl to Mariehamn, and then back the day after. In particular we enjoyed dancing to live music in the sky bar, and watching Stockholm archipelago on the way back.
